Since it launched, Netflix has transformed the movie and television industry. What started as a small business mailing DVDs to subscribers has evolved into a streaming powerhouse. Over the years, Netflix has produced some incredible shows, like“Stranger Things” and “The Crown.” However, not all Netflix content is of the same quality. Some shows are widely regarded as awful, and to help you avoid wasting time on them, we’ve put together a list of the most disappointing shows on Netflix.

This list covers a wide range of genres. Some comedies, like “That 90s Show” and “Blockbuster,” had great potential but ultimately fell flat with viewers. There are also serious dramas, such as “Devil in Ohio” and “The Mist,” which were supposed to give us great stories and characters, but fans weren't buying them. Don’t forget about the reality shows, like “Love Is Blind” and “Bill Nye Saves the World,” that are just not real or special enough.

This list doesn't just focus on recent shows. There are several long-running programs, such as “Peppa Pig,” “Supergirl,” and “Zoey 101” that people simply don’t appreciate, and they make their opinions known on sites like IMDb.

Remember, this list is subjective. Just because a show is rated poorly doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have its fans. Don’t feel bad if one of your favorite shows makes the list. With that said, most of these programs are rated poorly for a reason, so it’s best to stay away. If you want to watch something you’ll really appreciate, check out this list of the best new comedies you can watch on TV – and many of them stream on Netflix.

To determine the most disappointing shows on Netflix, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on audience ratings from IMDb. TV shows with at least 5,000 user reviews streaming on Netflix were ranked based on average user rating as of April 2024. Data on streaming availability is from Reelgood.
