When the weather isn't in your favor and you want to curl up on the couch and watch a good TV show, deciding which one to choose can be overwhelming. Hundreds of streaming platforms might make it hard to pick but sit back, Netflix, and chill with these shows you should watch on Netflix on a rainy day.

Although it wasn't the first online streaming service, it is by far the most well-known with about 270 million members in more than 190 countries.But interestingly, Netflix began in 1997 as a company that sent DVDs to customers by mail (a service they continued until 2023). It wasn't until 2007 that they began streaming, becoming the world's largest streaming service in terms of subscribers. More than half of its library consists of Netflix Original programming, but there's no shortage of great nonoriginal TV shows on the streaming giant.

To determine the shows you should watch on Netflix on a rainy day, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on streaming availability from Reelgood and audience reception from IMDb. Shows were ranked based on average IMDb user rating as of June 2024. In the case of a tie, the show with more user votes was ranked higher. Only shows with at least 1,000 user votes were considered.
