Just how long do you think you could evade the FBI if you performed a heinous crime?

The FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List was created in 1950. Since then, it has featured 532 criminals. Of these, 494 individuals were successfully captured or located. What about all the rest on the list? Are they still out there, or have they been caught?

To determine the notorious fugitives of the '60s who topped the FBI's list, 24/7 Tempo reviewed FBI data on over 500 current and former listees. We defined “most wanted” as those who were listed the longest without being caught.

This list was updated May 6th, 2025 to reflect accurate crime statistics and information.

Here are the notorious fugitives of the '60s who topped the FBI's list.
