25 'Most Wanted' Fugitives Who Defined 1960s Crime

The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list has been part of American crime history since 1950, turning some suspects into nationally recognized names while relying on tips from the public to help track them down. Over the decades, the list has included hundreds of fugitives wanted for serious crimes, from prison escapes and robberies to organized crime and violent offenses.

To identify the most wanted fugitives of the 1960s, 24/7 Tempo reviewed FBI data on current and former listees. The ranking focuses on fugitives who spent the longest time on the list during that era without being caught. Some high-profile names are not included because they were captured quickly, removed from the list, had charges dropped, were no longer considered a threat, or died before arrest.

Here are the FBI fugitives from the 1960s who remained on the run the longest.
