College Towns With Shockingly Affordable Homes

College towns aren't just great towns for college students; they can be excellent locales for everyone and typically offer abundant job opportunities as well. But the benefits don't stop there. Calling all sports fans: many college sports foster a sense of unity, can be a great way to bond (even if you aren't a sports fan), and bring the community together.

To compile a list of college towns with shockingly affordable homes, 24/7 Tempo.com reviewed five-year data on median household value and median household income from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey. Cities, towns, and Census-designated places were ranked based on the ratio of median home value to median household income.

Only places with at least 10,000 residents where at least 15% of the population is enrolled in college or graduate school were considered. So, get that school spirit ready and check out the towns where you might find your new home.
