These Iconic Disney Films Are Banned or Censored in Other Countries

Disney movies aren't for everyone, or apparently every country. There are quite a few Disney films that have been banned across the world for a variety of reasons, although the main reasons tend to be LGBTQ+ representation. Being part of this community openly is illegal and dangerous in some parts of the world, so governments will ban or heavily censor movies.

Typically, Disney won't make changes to their films for international audiences. Instead, they'll leave it up to the country to allow or ban it.

So, which movies are illegal/banned in countries other than the U.S? Click through the slideshow to find out. We've also included a U.S. Disney film that has been (practically) banned for its portrayal of African Americans working on a plantation. It was even the theme for the ride, Splash Mountain, in Orlando's Disney World. For this slideshow, 24/7 Tempo consulted news sources revealing where each film was banned and why.
