For 66 years, millions of Americans and global citizens have tuned in to watch the Grammy Awards. During these glamorous nights, the top talent in the U.S. (and world) gets awarded for their musical genius and impressive feats.
Although the Grammys are a luxurious and classy affair, you can't control everything. Because of this, the strangest and wildest things have happened, live!

Soy Bomb Guy (1998)
Art isn't just about creating a good song, but making a statement and impact. Well, during the 1998 Grammy Awards, while Bob Dylan performed, one of his backup dancers took off his shirt, revealing the words "SOY BOMB" painted on his chest.
Eminem and Elton John (2001)
In a surprising twist, during the 2001 Grammys, Eminem performed with legendary musician and artist, Elton John. Why was this shocking? Well, Eminem, at the time, was known for his homophobic lyrics. The two even held hands at the end of the performance of "Stan."
50 Cent Crashes Evanescence Win (2004)
This incident wasn't just shocking, but embarrassing. In a fit of anger and disbelief, 50 Cent marched onto stage, interrupting Evanescence as they won Best New Artist of 2004.
Gorillaz and Madonna (2006)
Who expected Gorillaz and Madonna to perform live at the Grammy Awards in 2006? Honestly, hardly anybody, but they worked well together! The most shocking part was that the performance was live, and the group used holograms to 'come to life.'
P!nk Takes the Air (2010)
Grammy performances have always been jaw-dropping. But who expected to see P!nk flying in the air performing aerial while singing, “Glitter in the Air?”
Lady Gaga and the Egg (2011)
Yup, you read that right. Are you even surprised? Lady Gaga has always been known for her strange antics. During the 2011 Grammys, she emerged from an egg. During her performance of "Born This Way," she emerged from the egg looking like an alien.
Nicki Minaj's Excorcism (2012)
A lot was going on during the 2012 Grammy Awards. Although we got a touching tribute to Whitney Houston, who just passed away, we also saw the strangest performance. Nikki Minaj performed her song and what looked like an exorcism on stage.
Kendrick Lamar Was Robbed (2014)
You know something is weird when even the winner of an award is shocked. Although Macklemore did an excellent job with "The Heist," when he won, he was more confused than anything. He even told Kendrick Lamar that he should have won.
Queen Latifah Officiating 33 Marriages (2014)
One of the most touching and unbelievable Grammy moments was in 2014, when Queen Latifah officiated the marriage of 33 couples, both straight and queer. This was during Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' performance of "Same Love." Talk about special.
Doja Cat Almost Missed Her Award Acceptance (2022)
It isn't every day you win a Grammy. But, when you've got to go, you've got to go. Doja Cat nearly missed her award acceptance with SZA because she went to the bathroom.
