The Cities With the Worst Fast Food

There's no denying that fast food is one of the most popular restaurant choices for the American population. Whether it's the affordable price or simply because they enjoy the taste, people keep coming back for more.

As of 2023, there were more than 200,000 fast food establishments in the country, and although many of these locations are the same chain, not every fast food dining experience is alike. It may not seem complicated to grab a fast food meal, considering it is supposed to be fast, but quick doesn't necessarily equate to quality customer service, cleanliness, or speedy service. And many of these locales nationwide have actually received poor reviews.

To determine America's worst cities for fast food, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on restaurant user ratings from Google Places for over 300,000 establishments. Cities were ranked based on the average user rating across 15 fast food chains. Restaurant locations were aggregated from coordinates to cities using boundary definitions from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Here are America's worst cities for fast food.
