Nothing is more nostalgic than a cult classic, a film that often evokes memories or captures a time in your life when you were carefree. The dictionary defines a cult classic as something that is considered to be one of the best of its kind by a small group of people. It may not have performed as well during its initial release but through the years, has attracted a following. These cult classics that defined the '90s are films or TV shows that people revere and were instrumental in shaping their lives.

To determine the cult classics that defined the '90s, we at 24/7 Tempo consulted many online sources. We looked at the Internet Movie Database, The Guardian, and ComicBook.com, among others. While there is an almost endless list, we consider these to be some of the best of the decade. (These are the best but forgotten movies of the 1990s.)
