25 Jaw-Dropping Guinness World Records From the Past Decade
It's always super interesting to read about world record-breaking moments, especially since there are so many. It isn't as simple as just 'the longest tongue' or 'the fastest runner.'
There are competitions even to see how high you can go up in a chair tied with balloons, and for the largest ball of dog fur. And those are tame compared to the Guinness World Records we've found for this slideshow. These records have been published since August 27, 1955.
To make it more interesting and recent, we've only listed Guinness World Records that were made from 2015 to 2025. To find these records, we used the official website. Click through the slideshow for 25 jaw-dropping Guinness World Records from the past decade.
Most Push-Ups In One Hour (Male)
How many push-ups can you do in an hour? Even if you answered 20, that's impressive! Well, the Guinness World Record for the most push-ups in an hour by a male is a lot more. On June 30, 2023, Pop Laurentiu beat the past record in London by achieving 3,378 push-ups in one hour.
Most Walnuts Crushed By The Hand In One Minute
Walnuts are not easy to crush, even with a device, so what about your hand? The difficulty doesn't stop people from trying. On September 17, 2023, Muhammad Rashid crushed 329 walnuts with his hand in one minute in Pakistan.
The Largest Collection of LEGO® Minifigures
Lego fans aren't uncommon, but how many people do you know who own thousands of Lego pieces of minifigures? They probably don't have enough to beat the current record. Steven van Dyk holds the record for the largest collection of Lego minifigures. He owns 11,803. The record was verified on April 24, 2025.
The Most Tacos Served in One Hour
Three records were broken on June 21, 2025, in Guadalajara, Mexico. One of the records is for the most tacos served in one hour. In one hour, they managed to serve 13,215 tacos. The same group broke the record for the largest stir-fry.
The Oldest Person Living
When the average lifespan is 73, it's shocking when someone makes it to 90, or even 100. The oldest person living has this score beat by 15 years. Ethel Caterham, born on August 21, 1909, is 116 years old.
The Longest and Heaviest Luffa
Are you a master gardener? Even if you are, there's no way you'll beat Graham Barratt, who holds a long list of Guinness World Records. On July 18, 2025, he earned the record for the longest luffa at 4 feet and 7 inches. He also beat the record for the heaviest luffa at 6 pounds and 3.5 ounces.
The Most Rollercoasters Ridden in One Week
Roller coaster fans might want to try to beat this record. On August 9, 2025, Dean Stokes rode the most roller coaster rides in a week (55) in Emerald Park, County Meath, Ireland. He is also attempting to ride every roller coaster in Ireland.
The Oldest Person To Climb Mount Fuji (Male)
Climbing Mount Fuji is a feat on its own, but doing so at 102 is another level of incredible. On August 5, 2025, Kokichi Akuzawa became the oldest person to climb Mount Fuji. It took three days.
The Oldest Living Chicken
Domestic chickens only live about 3 to 10 years. Pearl has surpassed this and is still healthy and happy at 14 years old. Her age was verified on May 22, 2025.
The Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet
Playing the trumpet is already impressive. It takes practice, a good set of lungs, and time. Imagine doing this for 25 hours. On May 9, 2025, Joshua Olusanya in Terra Kulture, Lagos, Nigeria, became the person to play the longest marathon playing the trumpet at 25 hours, 30 minutes, and 36 seconds.
The Most Plastic Bottle Caps Removed by a Dog
There is a world record for everything, including the most plastic bottle caps removed by a dog in one minute. Time to train your pups to beat the new record! On June 22, 2025, Jerry, the dachshund, removed 11 bottle caps from water bottles in one minute.
The Youngest Motivational Speaker (Male)
The youngest motivational speaker, Master Caleb Stewart, has remained the record holder since 2018. He was 3 years and 307 days old when he gave his first speech. He talked about the importance of self-belief at ALARM International Church in Tallahassee.
The Most People Dressed as Smurfs
This just sounds like a super fun record to break. On May 17, 2025, 3,076 people dressed as Smurfs in Landerneau, France. This was their third attempt (and most successful one).
World's Largest Diaper Cake
On May 9, 2025, Thrivent, Union Station, and HappyBottoms created a diaper cake made of 87,525 diapers in Kansas City, Missouri. Not only is this a record-breaking diaper cake, but it is also for a good cause. The diapers are distributed to families in need.
The Tallest House of Cards Built in One Hour, Eight Hours, 12 Hours and 24 Hours
One person managed to break four records for competitive card house building. On October 19, 2024, Arnav Daga built the tallest house of cards in one, eight, 12, and 24 hours. How cool!
The Largest Display of Crochet Squares
Crocheting is a beautiful talent. It's hard work, takes time, and requires a good eye. The record for the largest display of crochet squares was just made on March 9, 2025. The Mother India's Crochet Queen displayed 100,581 crochet squares with an empowering message in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
The Longest Cooking Marathon (Individual)
On February 19, 2024, Evette Quoibia cooked for 140 hours, 11 minutes, and 11 seconds to beat the record. That's over five days. She made a Liberian dish and beat the record by a whopping 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds.
The Shortest Dog Living
Even if you think your dog is small, it's got nothing on this pipsqueak. Pearl holds the record as the smallest living dog at 3.59 inches. She can literally fit in your hand.
The Tallest Dog Living (Male)
If we are going to mention the smallest living dog, we should also bring up the tallest dog living for comparison. Reginald "Reggie" Johnson Reiss is a purebred Great Dane who stands at 3 feet and 3 inches.
The Largest Collection of Minions Memorabilia
Many years after the Despicable Me and Minions franchises were released, there are still fans who love the yellow characters. One of these is Liesl Benecke in Australia, who holds the title for the largest collection of Minions memorabilia at 1,035 pieces.
The Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Steve (Minecraft)
Again, there is a record for everything, including the largest gathering of people dressed as Steve (Minecraft). On November 16, 2024, in Mexico City, 794 people attended and dressed as Steve from Minecraft.
The Most Landmines Detected by a Rat
Rats are smart creatures. They are one of the most underrated pets. They are also excellent at snuffing out explosives, enough for there to be a record of the most landmines detected by a rat. Ronin, an African giant pouched rat, became the record holder after detecting 109 landmines and 15 other pieces.
The Most Decimal Places of Pi Recalled in One Minute
A 10-year-old kid beat the record for calling out the most decimal places of Pi in one minute (280). Alberto Davila Aragon's desire to beat this record came when he had a competition at school and recited 150 decimal places. What a cool kid!
The Largest Dachshund Dog Walk
People love their weenie dogs so much that there is a largest Dachshund dog walk. The record for the largest sits at 897 since September 27, 2024.
The Most People Practicing Setsubun Ehomaki-Eating Custom Simultaneously
Last but not least is one of the longest record titles, the most people practicing Setsubun ehomaki-eating custom simultaneously. On February 2, 2025, 311 people participated in Tokorozawa, Saitama, Japan, breaking the record.
