The Stars Who Got Famous on Reality TV and Then Dissappeared
Reality TV shows can only take you so far. Although it may seem like everyone on reality shows is on there for the fame and exposure, rarely does this work. There are probably dozens of reality shows currently playing you've never heard of, with easily over 20 cast members! Not all of them are going to strike rich after their roles.
Still, some people initially do well before falling off the radar, either on purpose or with luck.
To find these celebrities, we used entertainment websites to search for once-popular reality stars that no longer have the same fame. While some of these do have an internet following, it's nowhere near as large as it used to be.
Click through the slideshow for stars who became famous on reality TV and then vanished.
Brooke Hogan
Sometimes, one good reality show isn't enough to spark your entire career. This is the case for Brooke Hogan, daughter of Hulk Hogan, who starred in "Hogan Knows Best." After the show, she briefly went to the music industry by releasing "About Us." She also starred in a few shows and movies, although nothing major. Mostly, Brooke stays out of the limelight.
Olivia Caridi
Olivia Caridi has a decent amount of followers on Instagram but didn't rise to high fame. After her villainess edit on season 20 of "The Bachelor," she struggled to find work in the news.
Spencer Pratt
You have to either stand out to make it big after a reality TV show or get lucky and book gigs immediately. This happened to Spencer Pratt, but his luck ran out. He starred in "The Hills" and was known for his explosive fights and drama with his partner, Heidi Montag. While he's been in a few other reality shows, nothing boosted his fame like "The Hills."
Preston Roberson-Charles
Although he was a fan favorite on "The Real World: New Orleans," Preston Roberson-Charles' acting career didn't kick off after the show ended. Actually, he struggled a lot and even became homeless in NYC. In 2021, he was living in Haiti.
Adrianne Curry
Imagine winning a reality show and still not gaining fame! Adrianne Curry was the first winner of "America's Next Top Model" in 2003. Although she did model after the show, she was only active till about 2012 and again in 2015.
Jon Gosselin
While Jon Gosselin is a name people still recognize from the shocking reality show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," he is no longer acting or starring in reality shows. This dad on eight left TV after he and his ex-wife, Kate, broke up publicly. Since then, he's focused on his kids and dabbling in music.
Lo Bosworth
Reality TV lovers recognize this name quickly. She starred in "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" and "The Hills" but, despite her fame and popularity, moved away from it. Now, Lo Bosworth is focused on her company, Love Wellness.
