14 Things Americans Find Weird About Tourists

Travel is booming, and more people than ever are getting the chance to explore new and exciting places. Along the way, it's only natural for both visitors and locals to notice the little cultural quirks—sometimes surprising, sometimes funny—that make daily life look a bit different depending on where you are in the world.

You've probably seen plenty of articles poking fun at the things American tourists do abroad, but this time we're flipping the script. Instead, we're taking a look at the things travelers from other countries do that Americans often find a little unusual.

This list comes from the personal experiences of the 24/Tempo team, lively conversations on travel forums, and common cultural traditions around the globe. And just to be clear—we use the word "weird" with affection. These differences aren't a bad thing; they're what make the world interesting. After all, the quirks that set us apart are also what connect us.
