Who says you can’t enjoy a really good hamburger with cheese while also being a vegan? Sure, the ingredients are going to be different, but it tastes just as good.
The number of people turning to veganism and vegetarianism is rising. According to the Vegan Society, in 2025, about 25.8 million people across the world tried veganism. And the year isn’t over yet. While this doesn’t mean all 25 million people are strictly vegan, it does point to the idea that more people are eating less meat.
For many years, vegans were limited in what they could eat. While tofu and beans are a great protein alternative, they don’t taste or feel like meat. Thankfully, there are plant-based meat alternatives popping up everywhere that produce meatless seafood, burgers, nuggets, and more.
Not sure where to start? Click through the slideshow for the most popular plant-based products and brands of 2025. Which of these have you tried?
Impossible Foods

Probably one of the most popular and well-known plant-based alternative companies is Impossible Foods, which created Impossible Burgers. They’ve even partnered with Burger King to create the Impossible Whopper.
Burgers aren’t the only thing they make, though. Impossible Foods also makes meatless chicken and sausages.
Beyond Meat

Beyond Meat is a very similar company to Impossible Foods. The products are all plant-based meat substitutes, and the company is best known for its meatless burgers. Beyond Meat was founded in 2009, although the products were launched in 2012. They sell plant-based sausages, meatballs, mince, and burgers. Previously, they plant-based sold jerky and chicken.
Follow Your Heart

Plant-based meat alternatives are just a small section of products. There are also sandwich spreads without animal products. Follow Your Heart first began as a Californian restaurant, but is now a food company. They make vegan dressings, mayonnaise, cheeses, and ‘egg’ products.
Quorn

Another plant-based company to try in 2025 is Quorn. This UK company creates meat substitutes. They aren’t new to the game as they were founded in 1985. The company has been selling vegan products since 2011 starting with the Quorn Vegan Burger.
Lightlife

Vegan companies are not new. One of the oldest plant-based companies on the market is Lightlife, which was founded in 1979. In 1993, it launched its most popular product, plant-based veggie dog, Smart Dog. Like the other plant-based brands, Lightlife also has a burger. They also sell different chicken products.
Gardein

Gardein was founded in 2003 by Yves Potvin. Now the company is owned by Conagra Brands. Gardein products are everywhere. They are sold in the frozen section, but also in restaurants like Veggie Grill and BurgerFuel.
Morningstar Farms

Also on our slideshow is Morningstar Farms, which is yet another older company. It was founded back in 1974. Morningstar Farms has a massive amount of products sold in grocery stores. They produce and sell plant-based nuggets, burger patties, popcorn chickens, vegan cheese, pizza rolls, and sausages.
Oatly

We’ve discussed a lot of meat substitutes, but what about dairy? Vegans can enjoy milk, yogurt, and ice cream too with companies like Oatly. This dairy alternative was founded in 1994. Apart from oat milk, Oatly produces cooking cream, spreads, ice cream, yogurts, and custards.
Daiya

Have you ever heard of Daiya? It’s a dairy alternative with plenty of vegan options for cheese lovers. They make this cheese substitute using coconut oil and tapioca flour. Not only does this product not contain animal products, but also nuts and wheat. It is sold in grocery stores in singular products or packaged meals by Amy’s Kitchen and Turtle Island Foods.
Silk

Oatly isn’t the only milk alternative. Silk is another great option that sells more than just plant-based milk without animal products. This American brand was founded in 1977. It produces coconut milk, soy milk, cashew milk, oat milk, and almond milk. The milk also comes in various flavors including vanilla, chocolate, sweetened, and unsweetened.
SIMULATE (Nuggs)

One of the newest companies in the market is SIMULATE, which was founded in 2018. Headquartered in New York City, the company produces plant-based alternatives, specifically chicken. They sell plant-based nuggets and a chicken patty. You can find the products across grocery stores in the United States, although mainly in Target and Whole Foods.
Eat Just

So, we have plant-based milk, beef, chicken, and pork, but what about eggs? That’s where Eat Just comes in. This company was founded in 2011 by Josh Tetrick and Josh Balk. Although the company does produce and sell plant-based meat, they are best known for their eggless ‘egg’ products. The company sells scrambled eggs and mayonnaise made from mung beans.
