Americans live busy lives, with jobs, social events, family, and more taking up precious time, which means we go for convenience whenever we can. Sometimes that means grabbing some fast food at the nearest drive-thru or fast-casual restaurant.

The United States has over 207,000 fast-food restaurants, and not surprisingly, McDonald's has more locations than any other chain. California leads the way with nearly 39,000 fast-food places, followed by Texas and New York.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows that 37% of American adults eat fast food on any given day, leading to a staggering $278 billion in revenue for the industry.

What that 37% of people may not (or may) know is just how many calories they're consuming when they grab that quick burger. 24/7 Tempo set out to find some of the fast-food burgers with over 1,000 calories, a huge portion of the average person's daily recommended caloric intake. Luckily, most restaurants these days include the number of calories each item contains on their menus, so keeping track shouldn't be an issue. You can also usually find nutritional information on the company's website.

Here are the 10 fast-food burgers with over 1,000 calories each. (For related reading, here are 20 things you should never eat at fast-food chains.)
