10 Things You Should Know About America

Do you know your history? The Annenberg Public Policy showed that many Americans are uninformed in basic rights set out by the U.S. Constitution. Of the 1,482 adults they surveyed, the results were depressing and explain Americans' current apathy and ignorance of basic government structure.

Regarding the First Amendment, they discovered:

  • 77% named freedom of speech
  • 40% were able to name freedom of religion
  • 33% named the freedom to assemble
  • 28% Freedom of Press
  • 9% knew they could petition the government.
