San Diego is known as America's Finest City, a term coined in the '70s to attract tourists, but it lives up to its reputation with its near-perfect year-round weather, its proximity to the ocean and mountains, its incredible gardens, and vibrant culture. For both locals and tourists, the list of activities to do is vast, but if you'd like to take some day trips, and venture outside the city, there are plenty of excellent options as well.

From the stunning California superbloom in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to the beaches both North in Orange County and South in Mexico, these breathtaking outdoor adventures are perfect for everyone. And if you encounter that rare rainy day, you can always hit the Birch Aquarium at Scripps or the San Diego Museum of Art.
