On June 19, Nintendo had its regular "Nintendo Direct" presentation, where representatives of the company spoke about the new games that were coming out in 2024. Among them were a new "Legend of Zelda" game and a new "Mario Party" adventure. Watching it reminded us about the great history of video games and the titles that we loved as kids. Early video games were amazing, and everyone should have a chance to experience them, especially the titles that came out on the PC, Super Nintendo, Playstation, and Sega Genesis during the 1990s. That's why we made this list of the quintessential video games from the 90s people should be playing.

If you were alive during that time, you likely had a blast as you played many of the games on this list. We almost guarantee that you tried "Super Mario World" and "Super Mario Kart" when they were sold in stores. Then there were the kids who had a Sega Genesis and were playing "Sonic the Hedgehog" every chance they got. Those amazing games are on this list. This list also has many fun games from the mid and late-90s, including the incredible "Crash Bandicoot," the scary "Resident Evil" and "Mortal Kombat" games, and the unforgettable "Tomb Raider" series. There were so many great games during the 90s, that it was hard to add them all to one list, but we sure tried.

To determine the video games from the 90s people should be playing, 24/7 Tempo hit all of the fan pages and researched on Reddit and Quora. We also checked out the top gaming websites, including IGN, Game Rant, PC Gamer, and more.
