These are the Cringiest of the r/Cringe Reddit Community

The term “cringe” or “cringy” has become an internet buzzword for any content that causes viewers to cringe with second-hand embarrassment as they watch it. Cringe is a concept that transcends barriers, be they political, social, or cultural. While the definition of cringe content changes by community and subculture, one thing that all of us seem to share is an addiction to making ourselves slightly uncomfortable by looking at posts that make us cringe. The subreddit, r/Cringe has collected the cringiest possible content on the entire internet. Let’s look at the top posts of all time.

To get the information for this list, we went to the r/Cringe subreddit and sorted the posts by “Top” using the timeframe “All-Time.” Then, we sorted through the list to find the funniest and cringiest posts from the subreddit. We would like to take the time to warn users that this list is highly political as the top posts from the subreddit were strongly political.

A Hotel Guest Thinking He’s Being Hit on when the Receptionist Is Doing Her Job

One popular post that got a lot of traction in the subreddit revolved around a hotel receptionist who encountered a guest who believed she was hitting on him. She was writing the Wi-Fi password on the keycard holder for him, as per the standard procedure for the establishment, when he responded that she was an attractive woman and he was married and didn’t need that type of temptation. He believed she was writing her phone number on the keycard holder, but she was just writing the password for a relatively essential service at the hotel. Talk about awkward!

A Group of White Girls Singing the N-Word While a Black Man Sits Awkwardly with Them

Another popular post involved a group of white girls who were singing along to a song that included the n-word. Unfortunately, they had the gall to sing the word out instead of skipping it like one might when they weren’t black. To make matters worse, the person filming the video pans over to the edge of the couch where a very tired-looking black man is sitting next to a group of white girls singing about “their n-word” and pointing to him as if he was in on it.

Another popular post featured a collection of three Fox News hosts from several years ago. The grainy broadcast shows two male hosts and a female host talking about how those who were married later in life experienced lowered symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s. One host then goes into a lengthy rant blaming Alzheimer’s and dementia on interracial relationships while his co-hosts look on in horror.

CNN Reporter Fact Checks “Stop the Steal” Voters to their Faces as They Share Misinformation

Though the original video that was posted was taken down, several examples of reporters fact-checking “Stop the Steal” voters in real-time came out shortly following the 2020 Presidential Election. Those who fell for the “Stop the Steal” campaign were protesting the counting of legal ballots from mail-in votes and other legal sources that were counted for days following the in-person elections.

Another post that garnered thousands of comments and upvotes on the r/Cringe subreddit detailed the protests that were going on at the time surrounding the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders from various municipal governments. The protestors claimed that their rights were being violated and that the pandemic was a hoax on television, even as the illness raged, taking millions of lives worldwide.

Donald Trump Responding to a Nurse Saying “PPE Has Been Sporadic” with “Sporadic for You”

If you’re not a fan of Donald Trump, you’ll be happy to know that a great many of the remaining posts are of some of his most intense TV blunders as president. Responding to a nurse mentioning the sporadic availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the COVID-19 pandemic’s acute stages had us reeling by the lack of tact and knowledge of the situation by the former president.

If you’ve thought that water usage couldn’t possibly get more wasteful, you’d be wrong. At a Tulsa, Oklahoma Trump Rally, Donald Trump drank a few small sips from a glass of water and proceeded to throw it on the ground. The embarrassing moment came from the crowd as he did this, which erupted into raucous cheers at the water waste.

Trump Delivers a Sentence That, Like Many of His, Doesn’t Make Any Sense

Trump isn’t well-known for crafting sentences that make sense. Much of his news coverage ends up focusing strongly on the fact that he can’t do that. In this case, the video shows Trump during a press conference attempting to talk about Vietnam. However, he just kind of goes off in a random direction and starts repeating words and talking nonsense while on TV.

Steven Crowder Calling the Police on a Black Man Who Is Painting a Mural

Another conservative talking head who’s well-known for being unpleasant is Steven Crowder who hosts the show Louder with Crowder, where, as one commenter put it, he fails to make good points but then repeats his points louder, as if that makes them more valid. In this clip, a streamer is watching his show and Crowder approaches a black man painting a mural to discuss the Black Lives Matter protests and looting, and upon not receiving the content he wants to have, Crowder instructs his team to call the police on the man to ensure “this is a business.”

Trump Calling Tim Cook “Tim Apple” in the Middle of a Press Conference

Yet another popular post coming from a professional blunder by former President Donald Trump. In this clip, he’s speaking to Tim Cook and refers to him as “Tim Apple” while live on the air. As we move forward from here, Trump is going to be a frequent flier in the posts from the subreddit. So, if that’s not agreeable to you, you might want to turn back now.

Moving forward, we have a young female animal rights protestor at a Bernie Sanders rally. In the middle of the rally, she grabs the mic from Sanders and begins her speech as a second female protestor removes her shirt. The camera pans away from the scene since the rally was on television and we can’t show that to the viewers!

Proving that few, if any, people like Betsy Devos, r/Cringe managed to get a clip of the former Education Secretary delivering a speech at a university. Shortly after she comes up on stage, the entire crowd starts to boo her and the booing continues throughout her entire 20-minute speech. Talk about cringe-worthy!

Ben Shapiro Calling a Famously Right-Wing Journalist a Leftist

This entire segment from the BBC is a cringe-fest of the highest degree. The segment features Ben Shapiro, a notable right-wing conservative talking head, in an interview hosted by the famously right-wing Andrew Neil of the BBC. During the original clip that a user posted to r/Cringe, Shapiro accuses Neil of being a leftist, which he could have debunked by doing any research at all about the person he was speaking to. However, since the original, shortened clip has been deleted, the only way to see this one is to watch the whole interview as it was uploaded by the BBC.

Kyle Rittenhouse’s Mother Saying She’s Going to Sue Joe Biden

After Joe Biden spoke about Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions, decrying them as an act of white supremacy, Rittenhouse’s mother went on Fox News to air her grievances. During the interview, she claims that she’s planning to sue Joe Biden for calling her son a white supremacist. We do wonder how that lawsuit is going for her as it doesn’t seem the courts have handed down any convictions against President Joe Biden for slander or libel against Kyle Rittenhouse.

Trump Saying “It’ll Get Cooler” During a Briefing about Climate Change

We don’t know how to explain this one besides telling you to watch it yourself. When confronted by experts on climate change, Trump went on the record saying “It’ll get cooler, just you watch.” The experts attempted to defuse that statement by saying “I wish science agreed with you” and Trump responded, “I don’t think science knows, actually.” Trusting the experts? Not Trump! He got his news from his Twitter echo chamber!

Trump Saying “Criminalalalalal” until the Fox News Hosts Cut Away Laughing

At a rally five years ago, Trump went on the record — as per usual — forgetting his train of thought in the middle of a sentence. He began repeating the last syllable of “criminal” resulting in a babble of “criminalalalal…” which continued until the Fox News hosts televising the rally cut away from the depressing scene while laughing.

Trump Refusing to Say What His Favorite Bible Verse Is

After saying several times that the Bible was “his favorite book,” an interviewer put Trump’s knowledge of it to the test, asking him for “one or two” of his favorite Bible verses. As expected, Trump refused to answer the question, stating that it was “very personal” and that he “didn’t want to get into specifics.” Overall, his statement sounds suspiciously like someone floundering with the question because they don’t know any Bible verses.

Trump Begging a Young Woman for a Kiss on Stage after Giving a Speech

We’re now in the top 3 most popular posts on r/Cringe of all time. The third most popular post of all time shows Trump at a Turning Point USA event. A young woman who gave a speech at the event is about to exit the stage when the notably sweaty and gross former President grabs her hand. He demands that she give him a kiss on the cheek, which she ultimately rebuffs in an extremely awkward manner. When it comes to awkwardly harassing women, Trump is a master as we all remember his “locker room talk” comments and how he likes to grab women who say no to him in private.

Trump Telling the Georgia Secretary of State to “Find” 11,780 Votes

The second most popular post of all time on r/Cringe features the recorded conversation between Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, and then-President Donald Trump. In the recorded call, Trump berates Raffensperger for counting the votes in Georgia accurately, telling him to “find” the 11,780 votes that would give him the state in the election. During the call, Trump repeatedly asserts that Raffensperger and his lawyer are committing crimes and when they don’t bow to his demands, he becomes audibly panicked.

The top post of all time from r/Cringe is another one featuring former President Donald Trump. The post shows a video of Trump speaking before the United Nations General Assembly. During his speech, Trump asserted, “In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.” The U.N. General Assembly responds with awkward and confused laughter, which doesn’t seem to deter Trump from spouting more untruths about his administration’s accomplishments. As the clip progresses, the audience’s awkward chuckle starts to pick up into outright laughter.
