Soundtracks can make or break a movie. Music in films is used to form tension, offer comedic breaks, and drive up emotions. Sometimes, the soundtrack is the best part of a film. It's easy to get lost into a scene of a movie because of the sound in the back driving up the emotions. So, which movies are famous for having incredible soundtracks? "Jaws" (1975)
To be fair, "Jaws" is a popular movie even when not looking at the film's soundtrack. Still, the soundtrack is too iconic to ignore. Even people who have never seen "Jaws" have heard the dramatic 2-note ostinato that represents the shark. The soundtrack was so loved it won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
"Pulp Fiction" (1994)
"Pulp Fiction" is another film with an incredibly famous soundtrack. Quentin Tarantino's films often have great soundtracks, "Pulp Fiction" included. The music included in the film varies by genre. It uses pop, rock and roll, soul, and surf music.
"Forrest Gump" (1994)
Coming from the same year as "Pulp Fiction," "Forrest Gump" also boasts one of the best soundtracks. The movie alone is hilarious and heartfelt, but the music in the back is the real star. The original score was composed and directed by Alan Silvestri.
"Titanic" (1997)
How could "Titanic" not make our list? This fantastic film isn't just a romantic tragedy with beautiful characters but also has a stellar soundtrack. Probably one of the most well-known songs to come from "Titanic" is "My Heart Will Go On" – the film's signature song.
"The Empire Strikes Back" (1980)
If we tried to list every single famous soundtrack, we'd be here for a long time. Even within the Star Wars franchise, so many soundtracks can be titled as some of the best. "The Empire Strikes Back" was composed by John Williams and won an Academy Award.
"The Crow" (1993)
Are you surprised to see "The Crow" here? "The Crow" has one of the best soundtracks to come out of a supernatural film. The original soundtrack was loved from the beginning, quickly rising as a chart-topping album. It includes various rock legends like The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, and Rage Against the Machine.
"Mary Poppins" (1964)
Last but not least is "Mary Poppins," which isn't too surprising. This family musical is magical for many reasons, including its soundtrack. It isn't loved by just fans, but also by critics. The "Mary Poppins" soundtrack won two Academy Awards and 2 Grammys.
