When we go to the theater, we want to be entertained. We expect that a movie will be exciting, filled with drama, action, adventure, or at the very least, a captivating storyline that makes up for a lack of special effects. A film may have all these components, or it may be a bit slower, an emotionally fraught film that allows viewers to tap into their more sensitive sides. Regardless of what type of film you see, you expect it to be enjoyable, which is why you should probably avoid these 20 films that are painfully boring to watch.

Movies can be extremely subjective, and we all have different likes and dislikes. What you may find exciting someone else may find downright boring and vice versa. There are thousands of painfully boring films where you debate if it's worth the cost of your ticket to stay or go. Not every film can be a hit. Even some of the best films of the century are considered boring because of their pace, language, or awkward writing.

24/7 Tempo consulted multiple entertainment websites, including IMDb and Screen Rant to determine 20 films that are painfully boring to watch. Also considered were their Tomatometer and audience scores, as well as Reddit and other forum sites. (Here are movies so bad you have to see them.)
