There are plenty of brand-new TV shows premiering in 2024, but that doesn’t mean every TV show was written to last forever. Some TV shows are coming to an end in 2024 thanks to cancellations for various reasons or simply reaching the end of the storyline.

Elite

“Elite” is the Spanish teen drama that first debuted in 2018. After eight successful seasons, the show is coming to an end in 2024. As far as Netflix shows go, this is the longest running Spanish series the network has ever had. The show was created by Jaime Vaca and Carlos Montero telling the story of high school students from different social statuses spending time together on one campus. Ester Expósito and Itzan Escamilla are two of the leading actors.

Sweet Tooth

​You won’t spot new episodes of “Sweet Tooth” by the time 2024 comes to an end. The show, which premiered in 2021, is a Netflix original that tells the story of a boy who is half-human, half-deer. He’s surviving a post-apocalyptic world doing his best to reach new levels of success and safety. Although the main character of the show is a little boy, there are some incredibly dark moments that give “Sweet Tooth” more of an adult vibe. Christian Convery is the actor who plays Gus.

The Umbrella Academy

​​”The Umbrella Academy” is easily one of the most-talked about shows of this generation. Despite the fact that it only lasted for four seasons, the cast lineup did an amazing job. Some of those cast members include Aidan Gallagher and Elliot Page. It premiered in 2019, and will officially come to an end in 2024. It tells a story of 43 infants trying to get by in 1989. Since their birth stories are mysteries, they begin figuring out their purposes in life when they reach their teenage years.

Penn Badgley stars in “You.”

It’s easy to enjoy a show like “You” is the other type of person who enjoys true crime. The thriller drama premiered in 2018, and has gone on for four seasons telling the story of a stalker who falls head over heels in love with his victims. Penn Badgley takes on the role in an effortless manner, showcasing signs of true obsession throughout each and every episode. The show is eerily similar to Badgley’s other big show, “Gossip Girl.”

Our Flag Means Death

“Our Flag Means Death” will come to an official end in 2024. It’s been canceled by Max after two jaw-dropping seasons. The show focuses on a spoiled aristocrat named Stede Bonnet who turns his back on a life of opulence in exchange for an adventurous existence as a pirate. If you’re hoping for “Pirates of the Caribbean” energy, you’ll find that with this show. It’s set in the 18th century.

American Born Chinese

​​”American Born Chinese” is a Disney Plus show that will be ending in 2024. It tells a story of a teenage boy named Jin Wang played by Ben Wang. He discovers details about the battle of mythological gods in Chinese culture when he starts attending high school. There simply wasn’t enough viewership for the show to continue on into the future.

Blue Bloods

After 14 epic seasons, “Blue Bloods” is finally coming to an end. It first premiered in 2010 as an intriguing police drama that kept viewers on the edge of their seats. This show served as a wonderful prequel to “The Big Bang Theory,” which premiered in 2007.

“Big Mouth” is a Netflix original series you won’t see new episodes of after 2024. The animated sitcom landed on the streaming platform in 2017, and has gone on for seven seasons. Some of the voice actors in the lineup include Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, and Jessi Klein. The show focuses on the struggles of going through puberty during your adolescent years. There are tons of awkward and cringeworthy moments in many episodes of the show.

Cobra Kia

“Cobra Kai” is a show that was developed in honor of the “Karate Kid” movie franchise from the 80s. “Cobra Kai” premiered in 2018, and went on for five seasons starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña, and Peyton List in the leading roles. The action-packed series focuses on the beloved Cobra Kai dojo, and the resurgence of serious rivalries from many years in the past.
