World Rainforest Day is celebrated annually on January 22nd. It's a relatively new day, only established in 2017. The day was created to emphasize the importance of rainforests across the world. On this day, events promote conservation and restoration efforts as we are losing our natural rainforests. For instance, rainforests once covered 14% of the Earth's land surface. This number has now dwindled to 6%.
