Hayden appeared in her first commercial when she was just 11 months old and landed a role on One Life to Live before she turned five. As a cute little kid, she had already made plenty of on-screen appearances. Many of us first saw her as the precocious little girl in Remember the Titans. By the time she was a teenager, she already had quite the resume and had worked opposite major A-list actors. Growing up in the entertainment industry is notoriously difficult. And making the transition from child performer to respected adult actress is perhaps even harder. Yet Hayden managed to do both. Additionally, she built a career that continued long after her child-star days were behind her.

One of Hayden’s biggest roles came when she was cast as Claire Bennet on the series Heroes. Her character, a high school cheerleader with a supernatural ability to heal herself, was for many viewers one of the best parts of the popular show. The role not only made her a household name, but it also proved she could carry a major TV series. Though her character could have easily ended up being one-dimensional, she brought emotional depth to the high school cheerleader. “Save the cheerleader, save the world.”

Instead of turning Juliette into a spoiled celebrity, she made her really vulnerable. Playing a talented singer allowed Panettiere to show off her own impressive vocal talents. This role showed that she could portray flawed characters and understood human struggles in a meaningful way.
