Who is Aaron Rodgers?
Aaron Rodgers, born on December 2, 1983, is a well-known NFL player with a long career. He was born in Chico, California, and is 6'2. Although born in California, he lived in Beaverton, Oregon for a big part of his childhood.
Football has always been important to Rodgers. Before making it big in the NFL, he played football at Pleasant Valley High School and was on the California Golden Bears at the University of California, Berkley.
California Golden Bears
During college, Aaron Rodgers was a quarterback for the 2003 and 2004 California Golden Bears football teams. He took home a lot of victories while playing in college, even receiving the MVP title for the 2003 Insight Bowl. It didn't take him long to get drafted for the NFL. He had a 67.5 completion rate.
Originally, He Wanted To Play on the San Francisco 49ers
Before he was chosen for the Green Bay Packers, he had his heart set on the San Francisco 49ers. However, the 49ers drafted Alex Smith instead.
Early Green Bay Packers Days
During his first few years, Aaron Rodgers played backup quarterback. He signed on for a $7.7 million deal for five years. Between 2005 and 2007, he was in McCarthy's "Quarterback school," perfecting his skills before he transitioned to starting quarterback. Before he transitioned to starting quarterback, he only played a few games as backup.
2008 Season
Aaron Rodgers finally saw a lot more action during the 2008 season when the previous starting quarterback retired. During this season, Rodgers quickly proved himself to his team and the world with incredible stats. In the season, he threw 28 touchdowns and only 13 interceptions.
Super Bowl XLV season
What Aaron Rodgers is really known for is his Super Bowl win. In 2010, Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to victory against the Steelers 31–25. He was named MVP of the game and expertly completed 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards. Rodgers also did three touchdowns with no interceptions.
