It is Saturday afternoon, and you decide to put on a childhood favorite for your kid. One of those movies you remember as magical, funny, and basically untouchable. But halfway through, something feels off. The pacing is slower than you remembered. A few jokes do not land the same way. A character who once seemed charming now feels dated, awkward, or even a little cringeworthy.

That does not mean the Disney classics suddenly stopped mattering. They earned their place for a reason. But nostalgia can do a lot of heavy lifting, and when you watch some older family movies through today’s eyes, they do not always feel as timeless as they once did.
