Mandarin Oriental New York
Mandarin Oriental is known for luxury, and its New York location is no different. This is one of the most luxurious, expensive hotels in the city. The hotel offers single rooms as well as suites that are complete with both a living and dining area. Upscale amenities include floor-to-ceiling windows, doorbells, indoor lap pool, spa, and fitness center.
If you're looking for a hotel that offers amazing views of Central Park, the city's skyline, and the Hudson River, Mandarin Oriental New York is the place to stay. As of 2023 ownership of the hotel changed hands (it is now managed by Mandarin Oriental but majority-owned by Reliance Industries).
The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park
The Ritz-Carlton is another luxury brand, and its Central Park location offers an iconic stay. This hotel overlooks Central Park, offers townhouse-inspired luxury, and is a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond Hotel. A plethora of amenities are offered at the hotel, including a living/sitting area in each room, a minibar and wet bar, turndown service, a spa, fitness center, and a movement studio.
The hotel offers all-day dining at the Contour Gastro Lounge and Bar, and specialized concierge services as well as exclusive experiences like personal shopping and spirit tastings.
Baccarat Hotel
The Baccarat Hotel offers a French-inspired stay in New York City and was ranked as one of the best hotels in New York City by Vogue magazine. Guests can choose from single rooms to suites; all units are focused on pied-a-terre living. Some of the upscale amenities include Baccarat stemware in each room, twice-daily housekeeping, luxury house car services, a fitness center, an indoor heated pool, and Spa De La Mer.
The hotel also features shopping through the Baccarat Boutique and plenty of dining options with the Grand Salon, The Bar, Le Jardin, and Afternoon Tea.
The Mark
The Mark Hotel labels itself "New York's most boldly lavish hotel" and is located on the city's Upper East Side. With shopping, restaurants, and experiences galore, The Mark is an iconic stay where you can enjoy amenities such as exclusive access to pedicabs, Frédéric Fekkai's hair salon, a fitness center, and shoeshine services. The hotel is also pet- and kid-friendly.

The Plaza New York
The Plaza opened its doors in 1907 and is famous for hosting dignitaries and the famous from around the world. "The castle" features 282 rooms, including 102 suites. Suite options include one-of-a-kind suites, legacy suites, and multi-room suites. Guests can enjoy amenities that include oversized bathrooms, 24-carat gold-plated fixtures, the Guerlain Spa, and a fitness center.

The Lowell
The Lowell Hotel is one of the most luxurious and expensive stays in the city, located on East 63rd Street in a residential neighborhood near Madison Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park. The Lowell first opened in 1927, and its style reflects the Upper East Side. Guests can choose from numerous rooms, including suites. Amenities include marble bathrooms with heated floors, minibars, and pantries in the suites.
