These Albums Prove Music Legends Like Ozzy Osbourne Never Truly Fade

Today, the music world is mourning the loss of a true icon. Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy in both heavy metal and rock history. His death serves as a powerful reminder that while artists may pass on, their music can live forever, especially some of their most recent albums.

In his later years, Osbourne proved that creative fire doesn't fade with age. His 2020 album Ordinary Man climbed the Billboard charts, reminding the world that, even in his 70s, he still had a groundbreaking album within him. And he wasn't alone. Dozens of legendary musicians, many of them in their senior years, continued to craft albums that connected deeply with fans.

To honor Ozzy and other elder musicians, 24/7 Tempo ranked the most beloved albums released by artists who were 65 or older at the time of their release. Rankings were based on Billboard 200 chart performance, spanning legends of country, rock, soul, and pop. Let's take a look at them now.
