  • 1 medium-sized sweet potato
  • Fork
  • Microwave-safe plate
  • Damp paper towel
  • Butter
  • Salt

First, scrub the potato and pat it dry, then pierce it 3 or 4 times with a fork. Wrap the potato in a damp paper towel and put it on a microwave-safe plate. At the supermarket, choose sweet potatoes that are bright, evenly colored, and firm. Store them in a dry, dark, cool place, and use them within two weeks. Additionally, sweet potatoes should not be stored in the fridge unless they are cooked, as they can go hard in the middle and have an unpleasant taste.

What’s the Best Way to Freeze Sweet Potatoes?

The best way to freeze sweet potatoes is to first peel and slice them. Then boil them on the stove until tender, approximately 15 minutes. Next, drain and allow them to cool, and place them in a freezer bag. Remove the air and seal the bag. Sweet potatoes can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months.
