Hilton Head’s beautiful beaches and quaint shops attract tourists all year long. The year-round population is only about 40,000, but we found 10 amazing thrift stores that offer an impressive variety of vintage items and antiques. Whether you’re looking for a new-to-you outfit or furniture for a vacation home, the thrift shops in Hilton Head can help.

Thrift shopping helps save money while it helps the environment. Those items get a second (or third) life with new owners and they don’t end up in landfills—it’s a win for everyone. These 10 shops have great prices so you can shop ‘til you drop while you find unique vintage items to fit your life.

The Bargain Box

The Bargain Box is only open four days per week from noon to 4 p.m. On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this volunteer-run store sells a variety of used items, including clothing, sporting goods, furniture, and antiques. It’s a one-of-a-kind store that has even sold a baby grand piano and a Rolls Royce. It’s been running since 1965 and has donated over $12 million to Hilton Head charities.

This shop in Hilton Head has been voted the best consignment shop by Hilton Head Monthly and has been serving the community since 2004. The Church Mouse donates all proceeds to help support over 50 area charities, including The Literacy Center and Kairos Prison Ministry. As a boutique consignment store, the Church Mouse offers art and designer clothing in a two-floor showroom. While you may drop a little more cash than you planned here, you certainly won’t regret it; you’ll still save money, all while doing a good deed.

Classic Consignments

Hilton Head’s Classic Consignments is pricier but the furniture selection is excellent. Classic Consignments carries an interesting mix of newer items, vintage pieces, and lovely antiques. If an item has been there for more than a month, the owners are sometimes willing to negotiate a lower price. This shop is so full of lovely furniture pieces that you may have to dig a little to get to what you’re seeking, but it’s absolutely worth the work.

The Litter Box

The Litter Box’s unique name hints at where their proceeds go. This thrift store supports the Hilton Head Humane Society with all its profits. The store offers excellent prices and variety, including electronics, furniture, and an entire room of pet supplies for sale. Like the other stores, the Litter Box’s stock varies daily as new donations come in. Their staff is friendly and happy to help you hunt down the perfect item.

Osprey Village

Osprey Village’s store is over 10,000 square feet in Hilton Head, offering clothing, sporting goods, housewares, and electronics. The store’s volunteer staff takes donations of all sizes, but you should call before donating. Osprey Village supports adults with developmental disabilities and reviewers love finding great deals and friendly, helpful staff.

My Sister’s Closet

My Sister’s Closet is a Hilton Head fixture, having been open for more than 50 years. This consignment shop has slightly higher prices than thrift shops, but it’s well-organized and offers regular sales. They offer clothing, jewelry, and accessories; men’s wear is in a section called “My Brother’s Closet.”

The longer an item stays on the shelf, the more it’s discounted until it sells. If you’re interested in taking some of your items for consignment, call ahead first because they often have a long waiting list for consignment.

St. Francis Thrift Shop

St. Francis Thrift Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday and sells gently used a variety of furniture, clothes, and housewares. The store accepts donations, and most come from Hilton Head residents. This volunteer-run shop is well-organized and offers excellent prices. All proceeds support local non-profits through the St. Francis grant program.

Hilton Head is home to several outstanding consignment shops and Three Sisters Resale and More is among the best. Three actual sisters run the shop and together they sell clothing, housewares, furniture, and up-cycled items. Their prices are on the higher side for a resale shop, but the 3,000 square foot space is split between two levels with discounted items on the second floor.

Tulips Thrift Store

The Tulips Thrift Store began because Patricia Lopez and Lorena Hernández wanted to build a house for battered women. They sell everything from art and toys to clothing, luggage, and accessories at excellent prices. This store is newer, but Tulips Thrift Store, but they’re also one of the area’s best.

Sunrise Thrift Store

A newer shop in Hilton Head, Sunrise Thrift Store sells a little of everything from clothes and shoes to home decor, housewares, and more. They’re open Monday through Saturday and this cute store offers everything from designer clothes and shoes to adorable accessories. It’s only been open for about a year and is already popular with the locals.
