Disney is one of the world's most beloved entertainment giants, renowned for their family-friendly films, which have become a hallmark of the brand. However, the company's portfolio goes beyond animated features and musicals, including a noteworthy selection of R-rated films.
To identify the iconic R-rated Disney movies, 24/7 Tempo created an index using average ratings on IMDb, an online movie database owned by Amazon, and a combination of audience scores and Tomatometer scores on Rotten Tomatoes, an online movie and TV review aggregator, as of April 2024. All ratings were given equal weight. The analysis focused exclusively on R-rated films produced or distributed by Disney or its subsidiaries, such as Touchstone Pictures.
Here are the iconic R-rated films produced by Disney.
