As the second-largest city in Kentucky, Lexington is home to beautiful landscapes, friendly people, and Bluegrass music. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Lexington also has numerous thrift shops worth exploring.

From mom-and-pop shops to chain thrift stores, you’ll undoubtedly find something to take home from one of these thrift shops. Uptown Cheapskate in Lexington is an upcycle thrift store that buys second-hand items for instant cash or store credit. You’ll find the thrift store staples, including men’s and women’s clothing, and since Uptown Cheapskate only buys popular styles, there will be a lot to choose from.

They also sell some upscale labels such as Coach, J. Crew, Michael Kors, and Anthropologie.

Room Service Inc. — 933 Liberty Rd.

Room Service Inc. is a consignment shop selling home furniture and decor. Opened in 1994, Room Service prides itself on offering quality, gently used pieces that will make your house feel even more like a home. The inventory changes frequently, so it’s worth stopping in once in a while if you’re looking for that gotta-have piece for your house.

The Domestic is a consignment shop focusing on vintage and modern styles. One shopper on Yelp called The Domestic’s inventory “boho-chic, maybe some kitsch thrown in.” You’ll find clothing, shoes, accessories, home furnishings, and more.

Re-Kid is a children’s consignment shop that sells more than clothes. They also carry costumes, toys, sports gear, and more. They boast of having affordable prices, which is a good thing since every parent knows how fast kids grow! Re-Kid is the perfect place to outfit your kids for back-to-school, Halloween, or soccer.

If you love vintage, Street Scene is the place to go. This consignment store sells goods from the 1950s to the 1990s. What’s more, local artists are also offered consignment, so your purchases might help support them.

POPS Resale is the place to explore if you love all things vintage and/or collect vinyl. POPS (short for “previously owned products”) opened in 1996. Stepping into this store is like stepping back in time, with just about every sort of vintage good you can imagine ready to be snapped up.

Kid to Kid is a highly-rated consignment shop that offers a way to upcycle children’s items, from toys and gear to clothing and furniture. Everything in this store is in excellent condition, and you can take your gently used kids’ items in for instant cash or trade value.

Feather Your Nest — 1317 W Main St.

You absolutely must visit Feather Your Nest if you love antiques and vintage. This is a fun store to peruse, with goods from the 1970s and earlier. You may even find something you can’t get anywhere else, and who doesn’t love that?

Another Man’s Treasure — 2550 Regency Rd.

Another Man’s Treasure offers new and used furniture and home decor in excellent condition. As one of Lexington’s largest consignment furniture shops, they offer delivery, layaway, and free pickup.

Stephen Lawrence Ltd — 183 Moore Dr.

Stephen Lawrence LTD is a clothing consignment shop that offers shoes, clothing, and accessories. It should be noted that while they buy gently used items, they don’t take items from Old Navy, Target, or Walmart. You’ll find name-brand labels here, including Coach, Kate Spade, and Chico’s. One Yelp shopper said this is a great place to find a hat for the Kentucky Derby! (Check out some ’70s styles that are best left in the past.)
