These Are the Worst Shows on Max Right Now

As a streaming platform, Max has gone out of its way to rival competitors like Netflix and Hulu. Formally known as HBO Max, Max now has a reputation for offering on-demand entertainment to people who are ready to stream TV shows and movies they’re curious about. Max is owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, which means a talented team of creative individuals are behind most of the shows that have been greenlit for production. Limited series like “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” and “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” are the reason Max is in such good standing in the entertainment community.

Unfortunately for the streaming platform, Max doesn’t hit the nail on the head with every single show produced. A large handful of shows on Max simply haven’t done well among audiences. Some of the shows are Max originals while others were scooped up from other channels and networks. One example of a show that hasn’t fared well on Max is “And Just Like That.” While tons of people assumed that the “Sex and the City” spin-off would be an instant hit, it turned out to be more of a letdown than anything else. Its poor reviews might revolve around the fact that Chris Noth’s character died in Episode 1, and Kim Cattrall’s character isn’t part of the cast lineup at all.

When Max tried to give the original “Gossip Girl” show a reboot, the new series ended up being a total failure as well. The original series aired on the CW network from 2007 until 2012 starring Blake Lively in the leading role. The new version of “Gossip Girl” on Max tried too hard to give off a Gen-Z vibe and ended up turning off any millennial-aged fans, along with anyone older.
