One of the longest-running shows in television history, Jeopardy got its start in 1964 with host Art Fleming at the helm until Alex Trebek assumed hosting duties in 1984. It is currently one of the most popular game shows not only in the United States but worldwide.
After Trebek passed away in 2020, multiple temporary hosts filled in until Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik were finally chosen as co-hosts in 2022 (Bialik has since moved on). Despite all these changes, “Jeopardy!” remains one of America’s most beloved primetime game shows.
The format of the show is simple – three contestants compete by answering trivia questions across various categories, including history, geography, pop culture, literature, and food & drink. History, particularly Irish history, has proven very popular, with over 900 questions related to Irish figures, culture, and traditions.
24/7 Tempo identified some of the most interesting and difficult questions about Irish culture ever asked on the show by using J! Archive, a fan-created site documenting clues since 1984. Wonder how you’d rate on the game show? Take the following pop quiz and see how you stack up.
