The dictionary defines a sports fan as an enthusiastic devotee of sports, and by definition, these enthusiastic sports devotees bring a whole new experience to the game. Fans throughout the world express their devotion to a wide variety of sports and their numbers are monumental. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, universally appreciated worldwide with the largest fan base totaling 3.5 billion. In the United States, sports in general are widely appreciated but some have a bigger fan base than others.

The top five – baseball, basketball, football, ice hockey, and soccer – draw large crowds and sports devotees. Every year, after regular season games, these top four have the ultimate matchup between the best in the league. Baseball has the World Series; football has the Super Bowl; hockey has the Stanley Cup; basketball has the Finals, and soccer has the MLS playoffs (although the prized tournament is the FIFA World Cup, which occurs every four years).

Fans enjoy testing their sports knowledge and while they may not agree on who the best team is, their knowledge of the game is quite impressive. See if you're the ultimate sports fan and test just how much you know about all things sports.
