Consumers often rely on Amazon when purchasing their everyday essentials. Some of those people have turned to Amazon Prime for their entertainment needs as well. Prime has been around since 2005 as a streaming service full of movies and TV shows for folks of all ages to enjoy. Similar to its competitors, Prime splits its genres to make it easier for people to find exactly what they’re interested in. With so many options to work with, someone without plans on a Friday night will certainly stay busy with the help of Prime and its hefty number of available options.

Several TV shows on Prime are exciting to watch since they keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Many of the shows you’ve seen on Prime have even been nominated for awards over the years. Every once in a while, though, the production team at Prime doesn’t exactly make the right decisions when coming up with fresh ideas for content. Other times, Prime agrees to accept shows from other networks that definitely don’t belong. Every time something like that happens, incoming reviews from audiences speak volumes.

One example would be “The Spanish Princess.” The dramatic series only lasted for two seasons, telling stories of societal clashes and racism issues during the 16th century. Since the actors struggled to showcase realistic Spanish accents, viewers simply weren’t impressed. Another example of a failure would be “Victorious.” The show, which came straight from Nickelodeon, did well as a weekly television series with preteen-aged audiences. When it was later added to Prime’s lineup, viewers were turned off by the poorly written characters and badly timed jokes. To determine the worst shows on Prime, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on audience ratings from IMDb. TV shows with at least 5,000 user reviews streaming on Prime were ranked based on average user rating as of April 2024. Data on streaming availability is from Reelgood.
