The Top 25 Movie Stars of 2015

Who remembers the epic Furious 7 of 2015? Well, we have 3 of its stars on our list of the top movie stars for 2015! We uncover the best of the movie stars for 2015 in this comprehensive list. Have a look at the stats for stars as diverse as Tom Cruise and Jim Parsons.

We cannot forget the stellar performance of Harrison Ford in “Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens”. He is rightly crowned as the top star for 2015 according to our calculations. In close second place is Chris Pratt for his role as Owen Grady, a Navy veteran, and ethologist in Jurassic World.

To determine the top movie stars by year, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data on domestic box office from the film industry site The Numbers, a subsidiary of Nash Information Services. Actors were ranked based on their total contributions to the domestic box office in a given year. Box office contributions were calculated based on billing order, with domestic box office figures successively halved according to billing order. If an actor received top billing, for example, they would be assigned half of the film’s box office. Actors receiving second billing were assigned one-fourth of a film’s box office, actors receiving third billing one-eighth, actors receiving fourth billing one-sixteenth, and so on. Domestic box office data is adjusted for inflation. (These are the 50 bigger movies starts from the US.)
