World Chocolate Day lands on July 7 every year. The date was chosen because it’s believed July 7 was the day chocolate was introduced to Europe. However, this date hasn’t been thoroughly verified.
World Chocolate Day is just one of the many holidays celebrated internationally in honor of chocolate. Each country has its own day. For instance, National Chocolate Day in the United States is observed annually on October 28. Ghana, however, celebrates its National Chocolate Day on February 14.
To celebrate the wonder that is chocolate, we’ve compiled a list of over 20 international sweets you just have to try! To compile this list, we scoured the Internet, focusing on global websites for recipe and dish ideas. We also used Reddit posts and comments to choose unique sweets.
Hot Chocolate and Cheese

Would you dip cheese in hot chocolate? If you answered yes, you are one of many people. This delicious dish is exactly what it sounds like. In various countries, including Colombia, it’s common to drink hot chocolate with soft white cheese inside.
Dubai Chocolate

Dubai chocolate is all the craze now. This sweet dessert is a chocolate bar filled with kadayif and pistachio. It’s a relatively new sweet treat that gained popularity in 2024.
Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate mousse is another popular chocolate dish served internationally, although it originated in France. It’s a sweet and rich chocolate cream served in a small cup.
Brigadeiro
