It is not a genre for everyone, but for those who are fans, there is nothing better than terrifying masterpieces.

The changes in these terrifying masterpieces have only improved, with the industry using various fear-inducing techniques that cover a broad spectrum.

To determine the 50 terrifying masterpieces every horror buff should see, 24/7 Tempo developed an index using average ratings on IMDb, an online movie database owned by Amazon, and a combination of audience scores and Tomatometer scores on Rotten Tomatoes, an online movie and TV review aggregator, as of early October 2023, weighting all ratings equally.
