In most Western countries, Samsung Electronics is best known as a cellphone manufacturer. However, in their home country of South Korea, Samsung is and makes everything. In fact, the company is one of the world’s largest producers of electronic devices, including, but not limited to, phones. It’s also one of the most recognizable names in technology.
When you buy Samsung, you know you’re getting a good product. With Samsung producing around a fifth of South Korea’s total exports, it makes sense that they’re making more than just phones. So, let’s look at some products you might not know they make. (If you are in the market for a phone, though, here are 15 questions you should ask before buying a used smartphone.)
To populate this list, we looked at Samsung’s current product list. We picked out the best items from categories that Samsung isn’t typically known for outside South Korea. Then, we looked at those product pages and researched their functions and unique features.

One of the coolest features of this fridge is that the door auto-opens with a light touch on the door sensor. Since this model is an induction stove, water boils two times faster since induction stoves transfer 90% of the cooktop’s heat to the cookware, compared to 50% with gas and 70% with a standard electric stove. The glass cooktop is easy to clean and the Smart Dial learns how you cook to recommend settings.
The stove also integrates with smart home apps such as Smart Switch, allowing you to track your range’s power usage and manage it digitally from the app.
AutoRelease Smart 39dBA Dishwasher with Linear Wash in Stainless Steel
If your dishwasher is starting to get a little shabby looking, you can upgrade it with one of Samsung’s new AutoRelease Smart dishwashers. This one uses linear water jets to provide full spray coverage to the whole inside of the device, even in tight corners that other dishwashers often miss. The device has sound dampeners that help eliminate the traditional noise associated with dishwashers. When the wash cycle ends, the door automatically opens to circulate air and improve the efficiency of the dry cycle. It also has a flexible third rack to put your silverware on instead of the typical basket, improving the space efficiency of the unit. You’ll also want to take advantage of the Zone Booster which adds washing power to the bottom left zone of the dishwasher for hard-to-wash items like pots and pans.

Samsung makes both wall-mounted and free-standing range hoods. However, we picked a wall-mounted one because wall-mounted hoods are generally less well-known. This wall-mounted range hood has a fan like other ones, but is 25% quieter than the average, coming in at around 52 dBA. You can control the hood’s features from the SmartThing app on your phone, Samsung’s premier smart home integration app. If your cooktop or range is also synced to SmartThings, the fan will turn on automatically when the burners turn on. You can also monitor your hood’s energy usage from the app.

It uses Samsung’s premier Smart Dial that learns your preferences and recommends options based on how you like to do your laundry. You can also remotely start, stop, or delay your washer using the integration with Samsung’s SmartThings app.
The best part of this washer is definitely its wash speed, though. With Samsung’s Super Speed Wash technology, it can do a full wash cycle in just 28 minutes. It also includes steam treatments for stain removal, smart-powered self-cleaning, and antimicrobial treatments to prevent the washer from getting dirty and smelly.
Bespoke 7.6 cu. ft. Ultra Capacity Electric Dryer with AI Optimal Dry and Super Speed Dry
This dryer is the pair item for the above washing machine. It has similar dimensions, about the size of a shallow closet, allowing it to fit in small spaces efficiently. It integrates with Samsung’s other smart home appliances and the SmartThing app. You can start, stop, and delay the cycle right from your phone and when it finishes the washer will send you a notification. You can steam, sanitize and refresh your clothes at home as if they were treated by a dry cleaner. It has a capacity of five hangers, allowing you to hang up a whole outfit for cleaning. It has a deodorizing filter that helps it remove unwanted 99% of smells during cleaning and sets you up to smell fresh. The steam cleaning option will remove up to 99.9% of common bacteria and viruses from the fabric of your clothes, making it perfect to use right before you visit a vulnerable person.
It’s also extra easy to install. Unlike traditional washers, you don’t need a water system to use it. You just have to plug the dresser into a wall outlet and you’re good to go! If you need a new air conditioner and can install a permanent HVAC system, consider Samsung’s WindFree 3.0 residential HVAC system. The system reduces cold drafts and maintains the desired temperature in your home. It also reduces the energy it uses by delivering air through micro holes on the indoor unit to produce a dispersed and gentle airflow versus the usual intense indoor wind that comes from standard HVAC systems. It’s also integrated with Samsung’s Bixby digital assistant, allowing you to control the unit with your voice if you want.
Cleaning your AC is a pretty mindless and honestly kind of annoying task, however necessary it might be. The WindFree 3.0 system takes care of most of the maintenance for you, though. The Freeze Wash feature allows the system to self-clean by frosting the heat exchanger. The unit will then defrost the ice and dry the coil, cleaning away any dirt and dust with the water.
The Freestyle 2nd Gen with Gaming Hub
If you’ve ever wanted to take your media-watching adventure on the go, you might have considered a video projector. You won’t have murky white and washed-out blacks with these sharp displays.
The features of Samsung’s Micro-LED displays vary between models. However, most of them include a Micro AI processor that aids in image processing to produce sharper, smoother images and animations. They also typically lack backlighting, which can wash out colors, and color filters that other displays would use to create the illusion of a deeper color spectrum.
