The 35 Highest Paid TV Roles of All Time

The 35 Highest Paid TV Roles of All Time

It’s not surprising that celebrities make a lot of money. If you’ve skimmed through any entertainment publication or tabloid, you’ve likely seen some examples of how they spend their salaries. From extravagant mansions to fancy cars and in some cases, large donations to charities, there’s no shortage of funds for most celebrities and famous actors. Some of the highest paid actors and actresses make over $50 million each year.

Before the rise of streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, the highest paid actors and actresses starred exclusively in films, not television shows. Nowadays, many celebrities have chosen to focus solely on TV because it’s more consistent and they can be paid quite a bit for a successful series.

Both the highest paid actor in TV and the highest paid TV actress have made over $2 million for one TV episode. When starring consistently in a series, some actors and actresses are paid over $50 million a year for just one season of a show.

For most of us, it’s hard to fathom the kind of money actors and actresses make in some of the highest paid TV roles. Some of the highest paid roles include iconic characters from “Friends,” “Seinfeld,” and “Frasier.” Starring in TV shows can be incredibly lucrative for actors and actresses in Hollywood. (Also See 26 Actors and Actresses Who Turned Down Iconic Roles)

To determine the highest paid TV roles, 24/7 Tempo reviewed miscellaneous salary data from online reports, interviews, and articles. Television actors were ranked based on reported salary per episode of a given period for a show, adjusted for inflation. Salaries may not reflect an actor’s full tenure on a given TV show.
