Based on the recently-released Sharecare Community Well-Being Index, 24/7 Wall St. ranked all 50 states ranked from worst-scoring to best-scoring. Zero is the lowest possible index score and 100 is the highest.
The Community Well-Being Index is divided into two sections. The first, the Sharecare Well-Being Index, is based on more than 500,000 surveys collected in 2021, and includes five categories: physical, social, community, purpose, and financial.
The second, the Sharecare Social Determinants of Health Index, is based on over 600 different social determinants of health, from a variety of established data sources, including the Dept. of Agriculture and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The five social determinants categories are health care access, food access, economic security, housing & transportation, and resource access.
